INTRODUCTION
The SRFC approach to tennis instruction is to emphasize match play
as well as stroke mechanics.
All
junior classes will include some kind of match play. Students will be able to perform independently on the tennis
court and participate in leagues, ladders and tournaments.
All of our instructors are highly trained and experienced, assuring
you that your child will learn and improve rapidly.
MEMBERSHIP
Juniors
participating in lessons are required to be SRFC members prior to
enrolling. The junior
membership fee is $35 for the 2003–2004 season and allows full
membership privileges, as well as access to discounted court rates
and specials.

EARLY
CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT
This is an introductory class for children ages 4
to 7 years old. They
will learn hand-eye coordination, footwork, speed and agility.
They will even return balls accurately at up to 20 miles per
hour. Guaranteed to be
a lot of fun!

JUNIOR SKILLS
This class provides a solid foundation for both
recreational and competitive play.
We teach the important fundamentals so that the child will
have the skills to play an actual tennis match.
Emphasis is on consistent serves, backhands and forehands.
Students will learn the rules of tennis, be able to make fair
line calls and to maintain rallies.
Classes are for ages 8 to 16 years old.

Wednesday 5:30 – 6:30 pm
Saturday 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Saturday 1:30 – 2:30 pm
8-week session for $120 or

JUNIOR
INTERMEDIATE
This class is for players just beginning to participate in match
play. Students must be
capable of serving and maintaining rallies.
Emphasis is on strokes and match play.
Tuesday 4:30 – 6:00 pm
Wednesday 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Saturday 2:30 – 4:00 pm
8-week session for $175 or
**$25 per week
TOURNAMENT
PREP
This class is aimed toward juniors participating in
tournaments, including USTA and other nationally sanctioned events.
Students are given tactical and technical training, as well
as video analysis of match play and stroke production.
Thursday 4:30 – 6:00 pm
Saturday 2:30 – 4:00 pm
8-week session for $175 or

ADVANCED
PLAYERS
Taught by the highly acclaimed Wayne Emerick,
students learn to maximize their tennis game through hard drilling
and competitive point play.
This class is similar to Tournament Prep, but with further emphasis
on stroke production and the addition of specialty strokes for
competitive play.

8-week session for $200 or

may choose to participate on a week-by-week basis; however, we can
only guarantee a spot for those who have paid in full for the
session.
POLICIES
A
paid Junior Membership and a $50 deposit are required for all
classes, with the balance due on the first day of class.
Juniors who wish to continue in a class are given the first right to
reserve their spot by paying the $50 deposit for the next session on
or before the last day of the current session.
Spots not paid in full or held with a deposit will be made available
to those on the waiting list
One
make-up is allowed only if space is available in another class and
the club received the cancellation at least 48 hours in advance.
The club will schedule the make-up and notify you of the day and
time. However, make-ups
cannot be guaranteed and may not be carried over to subsequent
sessions. Classes are non-refundable after the first day of each
session.
